Macingwana Secondary School has received national recognition after placing third in the Quintile 1 Schools category at the 2026 National Education Excellence Awards, according to the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education.
The awards took place in Sandton on 24 July under the theme Strong Foundations, Strong Futures. The national programme recognises districts, schools and educators across a range of performance and improvement categories, while the KZN department described Macingwana's result as a reflection of work by the school community.
