Pinelands High School featured prominently in the national recognition accompanying the release of the 2024 matric results on 13 January 2025.
Western Cape Education named Rayyan Ebrahim as the top candidate in South Africa and first in the Quintile 5 category. A second Pinelands High learner, Matthew Christopher Wise, placed second nationally in the same quintile category.
The results recognised individual discipline as well as the network around each candidate. For Pinelands High, having two learners among the leading Quintile 5 candidates reflected sustained academic support from teachers, families and the wider school community.
