Rose Heights principal receives lifetime teaching honour

Dr Rishi-chand Bhudal of Rose Heights Primary School received a national lifetime achievement award after 39 years in basic education.

Rose Heights Primary School in Chatsworth was represented on the national stage when principal Dr Rishi-chand Bhudal received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2021 National Teaching Awards.

The Basic Education Department said Dr Bhudal had served the sector for 39 years, including 24 years as a school principal. It also highlighted his advanced studies in education and psychology and his work across curriculum and extracurricular programmes.

The award placed the long-term work of school leadership in the spotlight. For Rose Heights Primary, it recognised the accumulated value of experienced educators who build systems, mentor colleagues and keep improving opportunities for learners over many years.
