The regular schoolboy rugby season returned to a busy final run-in after the U18 Craven Week, with a 24 July fixture preview highlighting matches across several provinces.
Paarl Gim carried a 12-match winning streak into its second-last match of the season against Rondebosch, which had won its previous three games. Wynberg was scheduled to travel to Boland Landbou, while other Western Cape fixtures included Stellenberg against Outeniqua and SACS against Paul Roos.
The schedule also showed the travelling nature of school sport. In KwaZulu-Natal, Durban High School was listed to host Jeppe and Maritzburg College was due to play Affies. The preview included fixtures from the Eastern Cape, Free State and the Noordvaal Cup as well.
The match list is a snapshot of the season’s final run-in rather than a results report, but it shows how school rugby connects teams across provinces as the winter programme moves towards its closing stages.
