Tsotetsi brings decades of leadership experience, having served as deputy principal and principal in Gauteng schools since 1991, including at Brakpan Primary and Thembalikazulu Primary before joining Selcourt. He aims to preserve Selcourt’s existing culture while reinforcing it, emphasizing that the school’s multi-demographic makeup requires every individual to feel valued and included.
Tsotetsi plans to revive the leaders’ camp and expand sporting activities, ensuring qualified personnel are available to support student participation and development in these areas. He prioritizes addressing academic barriers by ensuring education policies for learner support are properly implemented, warning that failure to do so leads to frustration among staff and students.
Tsotetsi stresses that respect and personal responsibility are core values for learners, urging them to respect themselves, their environment and others as foundational to school life. To tackle bullying, absenteeism and behavioural issues, he advocates for engagement, dialogue and community-led campaigns rather than punitive measures, believing 'touching the soul' drives lasting change.
Tsotetsi is deepening ties with the local community, having already engaged the residents’ association and plans to collaborate with the Community Policing Forum to improve safety around the school. He envisions transforming Selcourt into an ICT-focused institution and believes strong, sustainable systems—not individual efforts—will ensure lasting progress and institutional resilience.
