What this role involves
This is a classroom teaching post focused on Afrikaans First Additional Language, FET, Senior. You will plan and teach lessons, assess and record learner progress, support learners who need intervention, manage the classroom and contribute to the wider life of the school.
- Plan, prepare and teach Afrikaans First Additional Language, FET, Senior in line with the applicable IEB requirements.
- Assess learners, record results and use progress information to guide support and next steps.
- Create a purposeful, well-managed classroom and provide appropriate learner support.
- Complete the academic and administrative records connected to your classes and subjects.
- Take part in school, professional-development and relevant extra- or co-curricular activities.

- Plan teaching, pacing and assessment against the applicable IEB requirements.
- For language teaching, plan across listening and speaking, reading and viewing, writing and presenting, and language structures at the advertised HL, FAL or other level where specified.

Qualifications
A degree (NQF level 7) plus PGCE, or a BEd (FET), with specialisation in the subject to be taught.
Experience
Two to five years of teaching experience and two to five years of specialist-subject teaching; computer/digital literacy and First Aid are also listed by the employer.
SACE requirement
SACE certification and police clearance required.
