What this role involves
This is a classroom teaching post focused on IsiZulu, Life Skills, Mathematics, Grade R. You will plan and teach lessons, assess and record learner progress, support learners who need intervention, manage the classroom and contribute to the wider life of the school.
- Plan, prepare and teach IsiZulu, Life Skills, Mathematics, Grade R in line with the applicable CAPS requirements.
- Assess learners, record results and use progress information to guide support and next steps.
- Create a purposeful, well-managed classroom and provide appropriate learner support.
- Complete the academic and administrative records connected to your classes and subjects.
- Take part in school, professional-development and relevant extra- or co-curricular activities.
Curriculum and teaching
CAPS and teaching focus
- Teaching focus: IsiZulu, Life Skills, Mathematics, Grade R.
- Plan teaching, pacing and assessment against the applicable CAPS requirements for the advertised grades, subjects and phase.
- For language teaching, plan across listening and speaking, reading and viewing, writing and presenting, and language structures at the advertised HL, FAL or other level where specified.
- For Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy, expect structured problem-solving, clear conceptual development, regular practice, formal assessment and targeted support based on learner performance.
