What this role involves

This is a classroom teaching post focused on Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, FET. You will plan and teach lessons, assess and record learner progress, support learners who need intervention, manage the classroom and contribute to the wider life of the school.

  • Plan, prepare and teach Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, FET in line with the applicable Cambridge, IEB requirements.
  • Assess learners, record results and use progress information to guide support and next steps.
  • Create a purposeful, well-managed classroom and provide appropriate learner support.
  • Complete the academic and administrative records connected to your classes and subjects.
  • Take part in school, professional-development and relevant extra- or co-curricular activities.

  • Teaching focus: Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, FET.
  • Plan teaching, pacing and assessment against the applicable Cambridge, IEB requirements.
  • For commerce subjects, connect theory with calculations, data, case studies and real-world application, while keeping formal tasks and learner records on schedule.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a similar degree plus PGCE or equivalent.

Experience

Minimum five years of IEB and/or Cambridge A Level teaching experience.

SACE requirement

Registered and in good standing with SACE.
