What this role involves
This is a school-management and teaching-leadership role. You will assist the principal with the professional management of the school, help lead curriculum and staff performance, support learner discipline and welfare, oversee key administration and deputise for the principal when required.
- Assist the principal with the professional management and day-to-day administration of the school.
- Deputise for the principal when required and help coordinate staff, learner and school operations.
- Support curriculum quality, teaching programmes, assessment, timetabling and educator development.
- Help manage learner attendance, discipline, guidance, welfare and the effective use of school resources.
- Supervise delegated staff responsibilities and contribute to extra- and co-curricular programmes.
- Maintain productive communication with staff, parents, the governing body, district officials and the wider community.
Curriculum and teaching
IEB and teaching focus
- Teaching focus: FET, Senior.
- Plan teaching, pacing and assessment against the applicable IEB requirements.
- Grades covered by the post: 10, 11, 12, 8, 9.
- At school-management level, make sure teaching programmes, assessment, learner support and improvement planning are implemented consistently across the school.

Qualifications
Appropriate teaching qualification.
Experience
Recognised teaching experience with the leadership capacity to manage the College co-curricular and events portfolio.
